We are on the downhill slippery slope to the end of the year. Restaurants are bulging at the seams with company Christmas parties and festivities. Everyone is counting the days to the end of what appears to have been an exhausting catch-up year for most.
But before we wrap things up, you need to look forward to the next 12 months. What are you going to do differently in 2023 to ensure that you can look back on a successful year this time next year?
As you wind down to the end of the year, have a conversation with your team and answer the following questions…
What did you do well this year, that you should continue doing in 2023?
Build on the successes of this year. Make sure you acknowledge the progress, innovations, systems, processes and achievements of the past 12 months. Highlight what worked and what you need to keep doing more of to ensure success in 2023.
What did you do this year, that you should stop doing in 2023?
Identify the mistakes and shortcomings of the year gone by. Recognise and identify the factors that held you back to ensure you don’t repeat behaviours or actions that detract from the company’s success.
What didn’t you do this year, that you should start doing in 2023?
What resolutions, plans, goals or ideas did you fail to get to this year. Identify strategies, systems, processes, resources, product or service offerings that you can implement in 2023 to take your business to the next level.
Remember, if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you can’t expect a different result.
