A relatively new concept in South Africa, business coaching helps you, the business owner, to achieve business success by providing an independent view of your business processes and behaviours and helping you to identify your goals and the action plans necessary to achieve them.

Business ownership can be one of the most rewarding challenges you will face, but it can also be lonely, and you are a martyr if you think you can – or need to – do it on your own. A business coach is an advisor, a mentor, a partner, a motivator, someone to keep you focused and hold you accountable.

Business coaching is not consulting, we do not tell you what to do, and we don’t do the work for you. By asking the right questions, and drawing on your unique knowledge and skills, and mentoring you where there are gaps, we facilitate growth and learning to make business decisions that impact positively on your bottom line. We’ll help you realise your full potential by giving you the knowledge, tools, vision and motivation to take you and your business to the next level.

Does the coach need industry-specific expertise?

In our experience, business challenges boil down to one of three things – Time, Team, Money. It doesn’t matter what industry you are in, the business challenges are all the same, so there is no industry knowledge required to work with clients. We count among our clients everyone from florists and hairdressers to digital agencies, restaurateurs, couriers, engineers, car dealerships, IT innovators and Executives and Chairmen of boards. They all have the same issues that are mostly unrelated to the industry they operate in.

What we can do is give you a completely objective view of your business, and introduce you to a way of thinking about your business that will change the way you approach things.

You can’t expect a different result if you keep doing the same things, and sometimes your years of doing things a certain way makes you blind to alternative strategies.
